I am thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new after-school opportunity for students in our area: Pagosa Peak Strings — a youth string orchestra program, and the first of its kind in Pagosa Springs! Register here. Scholarship Application Here.

 

Beginning September 3rd, students in grades 4–8 are invited to join us at Pagosa Peak Open School every Wednesday and Friday to explore the beautiful world of orchestral music. Whether it’s the violin, viola, cello, or double bass, students will learn to play alongside friends and build musical skills together in a fun, encouraging environment. This amazing opportunity has become possible thanks to Stillwater Music / Be Frank Foundation, a music non-profit collaboration that is dedicated to providing accessible music instruction to the La Plata and Archuleta county residents.

But that’s not all — we’re also opening the door for other age groups:

Enthusiastic 3rd graders are welcome to join with a teacher recommendation.

High school students (9th–12th grades) are invited to become Mentors!

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to:

Practice and perform advanced repertoire

Gain experience teaching younger musicians

Enjoy the flexibility to attend as schedules allow — we understand sports, music, school, and jobs are important, too!
